About Us
We are a Cardiff based business that has been producing and supplying fine art for the past 30 years. We stock and source a wide range of artwork from around the globe and provide both traditional and contemporary services.
In addition to having many years experience in picture framing and fine art, we have embraced the digital era and now offer high quality gicleé printing and digital services. We can print on various media, including the highest quality photo paper and cotton-based canvas. We also have an in-house graphics guru who can help you with restoring damaged photos and customising them how you like.
Below is a brief history of our business and how we have progressed over the years..
1975
Opened the business at 66 Albany Road which gave us our name, Gallery 66. Initially catered for the growing Student market with athena posters & block-boards. We also out-sourced custom framing and offered fine art greeting cards and framed reproduction prints.
1976
Moved to more central premises in one of Cardiff’s busiest areas at 9 Royal arcade.
1977
Brought our framing in-house and started training up our own staff. Increased our range of limited edition prints and began selling original paintings.
1980
We sourced and began selling signed limited edition prints from artists such as L.S Lowry, Beryl Cook, David Sheppard and many more.
1985
Opened a factory to meet the growing framing demands and employed more specialised staff. Continued to expand our stock with fine art reproductions from around the world which were very popular during the 1980′s.
1990
Started selling limited edition exhibition posters from galleries around the world, which were very popular during this time.
1996
Moved into larger premisses not too far away at 27 – 29 Royal Arcade, closed the factory and brought our framing in-house so we could offer a more efficient and faster framing service.
2000
Started our 24hr frame service.
2005
Entered the digital market and began providing our own printing services, including Gicleé prints, printed canvases and offering digital photo services such as photo restoration, editing and scanning.
2010
Commissioned a custom website to provide a powerful yet simple process for our customers to get the same bespoke service that they receive from us in-store. This will also help us to further our online presence and reach a larger market.
